Čiča Gliša – a Rhyming Poem From Childhood
Čiča Gliša – Grandpa Glisha – is a rhyming poem in Serbian for the little ones, in which they can playfully draw stick figures and learn a simple poem at the same time. Almost every child in Serbia knows čiča Gliša and passes it on to the new generation as they grow up.
Tačka, tačka, tačkica,
gotova je glavica,
vrat kao štap, trup kao ćup,
ruke kao slamke, noge kao sanke,
uši ko’ u miša i gotov čiča Gliša.
A dot, a dot, a little dot,
Ready is the little head,
Neck like a stick, torso like a jug
arms like straws, legs like sledges
Ears of a mouse and ready is grandpa Glisha.
